Visit the beautiful colonial center of the city of Lima together with our guide Susi. The excursion in the capital of Peru can start at any time of the day. Susi will take into account your personal wishes about which sights you want to see in Lima as much as possible. During this excursion it is also possible to visit a local market where the inhabitants of Lima (Limeños) do their own shopping.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
In the morning you will be picked up by our local guide Susi. She will take you to her favorite market in Lima, in the Surquillo district, within walking distance of your hotel in the Miraflores district. Susi will give you a tour of the market and you will be introduced to unique Peruvian fruits such as custard apple, lucuma, aguaymanto and pacay. Of course there is also the possibility to taste.
After visiting the market, you will depart with the 'Metropolitano', a specially constructed bus service between the Miraflores district and the city centre to the historic centre of Lima Peru. Via Plaza San Martin (where the best homemade ice cream in all of Lima is sold) you will walk to Plaza Mayor, the central square in the city centre. The cathedral and the government palace border this central square. Every day at 12:00 the changing of the guard takes place in front of the government palace. You will also visit the beautiful, bright yellow San Francisco church just behind the central square. In this baroque church you can see important works of art from the colonial period. In the underground catacombs, the rich and the poor used to be buried and you can still find thousands of skulls and bones.
We always like to drink a cup of coffee among the Peruvians in the restaurant 'el Cordano', you will automatically pass this when you walk from the central square to the church San Francisco. The service in this restaurant consists only of men and a large part of the service consists of (very) elderly men. Susi will gladly take you for a nice lunch in the center of old Lima Peru.
After lunch you will travel with Susi back to your hotel in Lima, Miraflores by public transport.
Tip: It is possible to drive straight to the airport after this excursion. This saves travel time. You will not travel by public transport, but by private transport. You will not return to your hotel after the excursion, you will take your large luggage with you immediately. Our driver will then take care of your luggage during the excursion.
