Paracas Peru

The Experience
Paracas Peru
About 4 hours south of the capital Lima lies the Paracas National Park. This national park with an area of more than 3000 km² consists of about 65% water and 35% land. The land part of the reserve consists of a desert park with beautiful rock formations that offers shelter to various birds such as the Andean condor, the Chilean flamingo, the American sandpiper, the Atacama hummingbird, the Peruvian pelican and the Humboldt penguin.
Ballestas Islands
Just off the coast of Paracas you will find a group of islands that are also part of the Paracas National Park. These islands are known as the Ballestas Islands and are known in Spanish as the Islas Ballestas. The islands are home to thousands of sea lions, seals and sea birds that you can see during a boat trip. With a bit of luck, also depending on the time of year, you will see dolphins or sometimes even whales swimming from the boat. The excursion to the Ballestas Islands is already included in our tours in Peru such as Peru Highlights .

Our guide will gladly take you to the yellow and red Paracas National Park. With a bit of luck, you will see a large number of birds in the desert park. On the coast you will see rocky formations that have been formed by the sea and wind over millions of years. Here you will also visit 'miradors', viewpoints over the sea where, with a bit of luck, you will see and hear a large colony of sea lions roaring on the rocks below. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit, because there is the possibility to take a dip in the sea.
NB: Every day at 11:00 in the morning there are excursions to Paracas Peru with participation in an international group. If you want to visit the park at a different time, we will have to arrange a private driver/guide for you. The additional cost for this is 25.00 euros per person.
